Specialty Flooring: Logos, Dyes, Patterns and More

Specialty Flooring. You probably haven’t given it much thought unless you’re in the industry or have recently built or remodeled your home or business. What is specialty flooring anyway? It’s a broad scope, considering all the things that can be done with flooring. Special colors or patterns, intricate designs, concrete dying, different textures and logos, among other things. At Chattanooga Floor Care we have standard solutions to about 95% of your needs, but just in case, we have a skilled staff that is able to provide all of the above and more. Several of our clients have requested their logo be the first thing you see when you walk through the door, or a specific pattern or color, and we rise to the occasion. Scenic City Orthodontics, Chattanooga Whiskey, EPB and The PIE Center, as you may remember from a previous blog post, to name a few.

At The PIE Center, shown above, we installed a 2,000 square foot logo, which was no easy task. The concept included nine different colors of dye in a complex pattern and took an attention to detail and patience that tested even our most seasoned installers. It involved days of laying out patterns, installing dyes, and polishing the concrete slab, with an end result that is bar none. The PIE Center houses one of the largest polished concrete dye patterns in the state of Tennessee and is one of the most skill-intensive pieces we have had the privilege of doing.

Dyed concrete is gaining in popularity in residential spaces as well. With radiant heat, walking around on a cold floor isn’t much of a concern nowadays and concrete provides easy clean up and is extremely durable, especially in residential areas. With the dye combinations we’re able to achieve a high end, one of a kind floor that is surprisingly affordable.

One of our most popular flooring options is polyaspartic flake flooring, or just flake as we usually refer to it. It’s versatile, slip resistant, and extremely durable, making it a top choice for those heavily trafficked areas or places prone to be wet, like pool decks and patios. We stock eight standard color combinations, but if you don’t see something you love, we have the ability to order other color combinations or create a custom blend. As an added bonus, we’re able to complete many flake projects in one day, allowing our clients full use of their area by the next day.

When it comes to being unique, we have your back there too. We work with designers to make sure we’re matching the design of your flooring and/or logo to the aesthetic of your space. Scenic City Orthodontics went with an eye-catching green logo, and while EPB took a little work on our part and ultimately required a custom color combination to get that unmissable lime green to match their existing signage, at the end of the day we were able to produce a product that was spot on and left not only our client but us pleased as well. We offer free consultations and look forward to helping you with your specialty flooring desires.
