Industrial Coating | Niedlov's Bakery & Cafe

Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe isn't just a haven for bread enthusiasts or a spot to grab a quick pastry fix; it's a cherished institution that embodies the very essence of artisanal craftsmanship. Since its inception in 2002, this family-owned gem has been etching its mark on the culinary landscape, one meticulously crafted loaf at a time.

Erik's journey towards perfection is not merely a quest; it's a testament to unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of quality. Having honed his skills at the prestigious San Francisco Baking Institute, Erik brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. With each loaf he kneads and every pastry he delicately shapes.

But behind every artisan lies a canvas. And for Erik and his team, the canvas takes the form of aged concrete floors, weathered by time and the footsteps. Enter Chattanooga Floor Care, a trusted ally in Erik's quest for culinary perfection.

From the selection of materials to the meticulous planning of installation, Chattanooga Floor Care leaves no stone unturned in their pursuit of excellence. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, they set out to transform the worn concrete canvas into a masterpiece befitting Niedlov’s legacy.

Chattanooga Floor Care Scope of Work

Size: 2,688 square feet

Existing Conditions: 70+ year old concrete

Completed: January 5th 2024

Duration: 4 days

The CFC install team ground the concrete surfaces and installed a high quality industrial coating, able to hold up to sugars, starches, grease, high foot traffic, and large racks of heavy bakery materials. We installed an epoxy base, a layer of polyaspartic, and a high wear urethane on top of that. We chose this system for the needed functionality but also for the quickest turnaround for the customer. It costs our customers to shut down their business and every day of lost revenue costs them more so we take this into consideration when designing their products and the type of service we install.

Materials Used:

Layer 1 - Surfkoat 250 HP Epoxy

Layer 2 - SurfKoat GL80 Pigmented Polyaspartic

Layer 3 - Sika 316N Aliphatic Polyurethane with Anti-Slip Additive

Sheen: Satin

As we reflect on our journey with Erik Zilen and the team at Niedlov’s, we are reminded not only of the challenges we've overcome but also of the trust that has defined our partnership. From the front dining room to the heart of the bakery itself, each project has been a testament to the power of collaboration and the pursuit of perfection. Here's to many more chapters in our shared journey, a journey fueled by passion, dedication, and the unwavering belief that together, we can turn even the humblest of floors into a canvas for culinary dreams.
